The main elements of S500MC steel plate and their contents and performance effects are as follows:

1. Carbon (C) : Typical content is 0.12-0.20%. The carbon content has a significant effect on the strength of the steel plate, and higher carbon content can improve the strength, but may reduce the plasticity and toughness.

2. Manganese (Mn) : The typical content is 1.70-2.10%. The addition of manganese can increase the strength and toughness of the steel plate, and contribute to grain refinement and improve the cold deformation performance.

3. Phosphorus (P) : The recommended content does not exceed 0.025%. Increased phosphorus content may lead to increased cold brittleness, so phosphorus content needs to be controlled in production.

4. Sulfur (S) : The recommended content is not more than 0.015%. The increase of sulfur content will reduce the toughness and cold deformation properties of the steel plate, so it is also necessary to control the sulfur content.

5. Boron (B) : Typical content is 0.005-0.010%. The addition of boron can improve the strength of steel plate and help to control the grain growth and precipitate formation.

The content and control of these elements have an important influence on the performance of S500MC steel plate. By adjusting and controlling the content of these elements, the strength, plasticity, toughness and cold deformation performance of the steel plate can be optimized.
