NM400 VS NM500
NM—Steel for wear-resistant use, N--Nai means "resistant", M--Mo means "grinding", they are the first letters of the Chinese pinyin, 400 and 500 are brinell hardness values(HB).
Grade | C | Si | Mn | S | P | Cr |
NM400 | ≤0.25 | ≤0.70 | ≤1.60 | ≤0.01 | ≤0.025 | ≤1.40 |
NM500 | ≤0.38 | ≤0.70 | ≤1.70 | ≤0.01 | ≤0.020 | ≤1.20 |
NM400 is a wear-resistant steel plate with high mechanical strength; the mechanical properties of NM400 are 3 to 5 times that of ordinary low-alloy steel plates; the surface hardness of NM400 products usually reaches 360-450HB. It commonly used in the processing and manufacturing of wear-resistant and vulnerable parts for mines and various construction machinery, etc.
NM500 is a steel plate with high wear resistance. NM500 wear-resistant steel plate is mainly used in mining machinery and other equipment, and is often used on the key wear-resistant contact surface of friction and impact.
