A36 steel plate and Q235GJ steel plate Mechanical Properties Comparison
Compared with carbon structural steel Q235, the manganese content of high-performance structural steel Q235GJ steel plate is greatly increased, and it contains metal elements such as aluminum, nickel, copper, nickel, aluminum, etc., and the control of harmful substances sulfur and phosphorus elements is also stricter. Therefore, its mechanical properties are also greatly improved.
Unless otherwise specified in the order, the V-notch impact test is not required for A36 steel plate. But for structural steel, unless otherwise specified in the order contract, the V-notch impact absorption energy at 21°C shall not be less than 27J, which is equivalent to the B-grade steel whose quality grade is not lower than the Chinese standard.
The V-notch impact absorption energy of Q235GJ steel plate at each temperature is not less than 47J, and the notch toughness is obviously better than that of A36 steel plate. The strength of American standard A36 steel does not decrease with the increase of plate thickness, and its tensile strength and yield strength are significantly larger than those of Q235 steel plate, and also slightly larger than that of Q235GJ steel plate. The cold bending properties of A36 steel plate are almost the same as that of Q235GJ steel plate, and both are slightly lower than that of Q235 steel plate. There is no significant difference in the elongation after fracture of the three steels.
According to their mechanical properties, it can be calculated that the yield ratio of A36 steel plate is not more than 0.625, and that of Q235 steel plate is not more than 0.635, that is, the maximum yield ratio of A36 steel plate is smaller than that of Q235 steel plate and Q235GJ steel plate. From this point of view, The safety reserve of A36 steel plate is higher.
