Characteristics and properties of 20CrMnMo steel plate

20CrMnMo steel plate is a high-strength high-grade carburizing steel, with strength higher than 15CrMnMo, low plasticity and toughness, higher hardenability and mechanical properties than 20CrMnTi. After quenching and tempering, 20CrMnMo steel has good comprehensive mechanical properties and low temperature impact toughness.

Mechanical properties of 20CrMnMo steel plate:
Tensile strength（ σb/MPa）：≧1180
Yield point（ σs/MPa）：≧885
Elongation after fracture（ δ5/%）：≧10
Section shrinkage（ ψ/%）： ≧45
Impact absorption energy (aku2/j): ≥ 55

20CrMnMo steel plate has high bending strength and wear resistance after carburizing and quenching, but it is easy to produce cracks during grinding. It is not good in weldability, and it is suitable for resistance welding. 20CrMnMo steel needs preheating before welding and tempering treatment after welding. Its cutting and heat-working properties are good.
