China's steel market fluctuated and went up in February

Before the Spring Festival in February, China's steel market fluctuated slightly. After the festival, driven by the rise of global commodities, the strong support of raw material prices, the start of construction projects driven by the “local” Chinese new year, the substantial increase in ex factory prices of steel plants, the release of demand for replenishment from traders and downstream, and the optimistic expectation for the future, the price of China's steel market "made a good start" and showed a positive trend of sharp rise.

As of February 25, the national steel composite price index was 180.8, up 7.3% from the end of last month and 29.3% year-on-year. Among them, the price index of building materials was 188.7, up 7.3% from the end of last month, up 27.2% year on year; the price index of steel plate was 173.2, up 7.2% from the end of last month, up 33.4% year on year; the price index of profile steel was 188.0, up 9.0% from the end of last month, up 27.8% year on year; the price index of steel pipe was 182.2, up 5.6% from the end of last month, up 20.1% year on year.
