Japan's steel exports in June decreased by 16.7% year on year

Japan's steel export volume was 2.429 million tons in June, down 16.7% year-on-year and 3.1% month on month, according to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).

In the same month, Japan's export volume of ordinary steel products was 1.5346 million tons, down 20.2% year-on-year; the export volume of special steel products was 374900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 35.7%.

In June, Japan exported 7014000 tons of hot-rolled steel, 238000 tons of steel plate and 162000 tons of galvanized steel.

From January to June this year, Japan exported 17.708 million tons of steel, an increase of 4.8% over the same period of last year.
