The smelting process of A737 steel is: open hearth, oxygen blowing converter or electric furnace. The steel should be killed steel and meet the requirements of fine austenite grain size in the A20/A20M standard.
The A737 material is heated to an appropriate temperature for normalizing to form an austenite structure, but the temperature should not exceed 925℃, and should be maintained at this temperature for sufficient time to make the entire material uniformly heated, and then cooled in the air.
If the buyer agrees, in order to improve the A737 steel strength or toughness, the cooling rate is allowed to be faster than air cooling, but then the A737 steel plate must be tempered in the range of 95℃-705℃.
