A36 steel is known as carbon steel. Then do you know what is A36 carbon content? A36 steel is usually in forms of shapes, plates, bars, etc. Let us take A36 steel plate as an example, A36 carbon content requirements vary with the plate thickness.
For A36 steel plate:
For thickness ≤ 3/4 in. [20mm], the max. A36 carbon content is 0.25%.
For 3/4 in. [20mm] < thickness ≤ 1-1/2 in. [40mm], the max. A36 carbon content is 0.25%.
1-1/2 in. [40mm]< thickness ≤ 2-1/2 in. [65mm], the max. A36 carbon content is 0.26%.
2-1/2 in. [65mm]< thickness ≤ 4 in. [100mm], the max. A36 carbon content is 0.27%.
Thickness > 4 in. [100mm], the max. A36 carbon content is 0.29%.
Our supplied A36 steel plates are totally compiled with the stipulated A36 carbon content. A36 steel plates are mainly used in the construction of tanks, agricultural equipment, automotive equipment, machinery parts and frames, etc.
