What is the difference between CCS grade A plate and CCS grade B plate
CCS grade A plate and CCS grade B plate are all general strength ship plates. There is a big difference in the content of Mn of CCS grade A plate and CCS grade B plate, and there is no other difference in their chemical composition.
In terms of mechanical properties, the yield strength and tensile strength of CCS grade A plate and CCS grade B plate are the same, the difference is the experimental temperature of impact energy, CCS grade A plate is 20 degrees, CCS grade B plate is 0 degrees.
Impact test must be conducted for all thickness of CCS grade B plate, while impact value is not required for CCS grade A plate below 50mm, and impact test is required only when it is greater than 50mm.
CCS grade B plate is a little more expensive than CCS grade A plate. There are a lot of CCS grade A plate and CCS grade B plates in stock on the market.
